Lee

Come on, Pat! It’s time to go home. It’s after half-past six already. Let’s go home and have dinner. I’m very hungry.

Pat

It’s all right for you, Lee — you have a new shirt already. Can’t you just wait a little? I’m still looking for something new to wear. I won’t be long.

Lee

Well, what about that green skirt over there? That one looks quite nice. Why don’t we buy that one and go home?

Pat

I don’t like that one. I don’t like the color. I want to find a nice brown skirt that I can wear when I go out with my friends.

Lee

Oh, come on Pat! This shop usually closes at six o’clock. It’s after half-past six already, and we’re still here. The woman wants to close the shop and go home.

Pat

Oh okay, I’ll get one of the skirts I looked at before. There was a brown skirt there that looked quite nice. I’ll get that one.

Lee

If you get a brown skirt, you can’t wear it to school. All the girls in our school wear black skirts or brown skirts.

Pat

I know. I’ll get a blue skirt to wear at school and a brown one to go out in. I’ll ask Mommy to buy me two skirts.

Lee

Come on, then! Take the skirts to Mommy and ask her to buy them.

Pat

Oh, wait! There are some more skirts over there. Let’s look at those.

Lee

Pat! The shop’s closing! It’s closing right now. Look – the woman’s closing the door. Let’s go home! Let’s go right now!
